I was not a Scorpion fan, but the Magpul mag seems to have won me over, I can’t attend any shooting competition without it.

The 35 round magazine, especially, has won the hearts of many, and today I present you with a full review of the Magpul 35 round V9 CZ Scorpion PMAG magazine.

Why don’t we jump in straight to the features?

It is available here at Palmetto State Armory

Features of the Magpul 35 Round EV9 Scorpion Magazine

35 Round Capacity with Indicators

If, like me, you prefer more ammo, then this should be your top choice magazine. This magazine has a maximum round capacity of 35 rounds. What’s not to love about this?

It also comes with capacity indicators to help you know how many bullets you put in. It means that you’ll see the round counts at 10, 20, 30, and 35. Obviously, by the time you are loading to 35, you are already tired, so the indicators can be quite helpful.

Durable Polymer Make

The Magpul CZ Scorpion magazine features a polymer construction to enhance durability. In an attempt to solve the problem of cracking of the steel feed lips witnessed with other magazines, Magpul designed an all-polymer magazine.

You, therefore, do not have to worry about cracking issues in case the magazine drops.

Magazine Matrix

This 35 round magazine features a mag matrix that you can use to mark the number of rounds left inside.

Easy Operation

I really haven’t found another magazine that is as easy to operate as the Magpul Scorpion magazine.

Easy to Clean

If you need to clean it, the manufacturers have you factored in. You just need to press the button on the fore plate and remove the cover, and then everything inside goes out. Clean the inside, and be sure to return everything back.

Easy to Reload

You actually don’t need to press in the rounds when reloading. The Magpul 35 round magazine’s design ensures fast and comfortable reloads. What a time saver!

Excellent Design

Just by looking at its design, you can be sure of a great experience ahead. The Magpul magazine employs a wonderful design to make you feel comfortable.

The first thing you note is the perfect molding. Problems with the molding have led to poor fitting, the magazine doesn’t safely lock into the gun, and you have to literally rip it off the gun.

With the Magpul design, the magazine perfectly locks into the gun and is easy to eject.

Secondly, the ridges on the grip and bend angle make it comfortable to hold and fit into the gun.

Orange Followers

Although not prioritized by many shooters, I find the followers to be quite helpful, especially if they are highly visible. The Magpul magazine features orange followers, which prove quite useful in checking the situation of your magazine.

A Field Test with the Magpul CZ Scorpion Magazine

I took this magazine for a field test and made a few observations.

  1. The Polymer finish is close to indestructible. I am 5ft 7, and I literally dropped it several times from height level and not a single crack to the feed lips. The polymer is made to handle great impacts.
  2. The magazine is highly efficient. I ran more than 600 rounds through the magazine, and unlike some sub-standards, it didn’t wear off. The magazine continued to deliver as expected.
  3. Owing to its design, it perfectly fits the CZ Scorpion and easily comes out. It actually performed better than the standard magazines that are packaged together with the scorpion. Well, I hope they consider packing the Magpul magazines instead.

What I Like/ Don’t Like about the Magpul 35 Round EV9 CZ Scorpion PMAG Magazine

There’s obviously more to love than hate about this magazine.

Pros of the Magpul Mag

  • Relatively affordable
  • Easy to disassemble and clean
  • Safely locks into the guns and has an easy fallout.
  • Comes with a round capacity indicator for various intervals
  • Easy to reload
  • Durable construction

Cons of the Magpul Mag

I have not experienced any problems with this magazine. It lives up to its reputation.

How Does It Compare to Close Competitors?

Having looked at its features and pros, it is without a doubt that the Magpul offers the user an incredible experience. But how does it compare to other magazines?

Magpul Scorpion Magazine vs. PSA AK-V Magazine

The PSA AK-V is the closest CZ Scorpion magazine that can compare with the Magpul. So how is the Magpul superior to the PSA, and what’s the difference?

Appearance

Most will say that appearance has nothing to do with performance. Well, not as much as any other factor, but I find it important to note.

For one, you are likely to notice that the PMAG is shorter than the PSA and has a larger bend angle. This is the most probable reason why the Magpul PMAG has a better fit into the gun, as compared to the PSA.

Not saying that the PSA doesn’t fit well, but if you try fitting both, you’ll notice the difference. The Magpul PMAG has a more secure fit, whereas the PSA seems to wobble.

Better Grip

The PSA mag features a flat and smooth surface, while the Magpul PMAG has some grip ridges. You’ll definitely have a better grip with the PMAG, especially when pushing it into the gun than with the PSA.

Shooters who have sweaty hands do not find any consolation in the PSA.

No Steel Lips

If you are a newbie in the shooting world, then you don’t know how bad it feels when your magazine falls and cracks, and you can’t shoot. The steel feed lips are not as strong as the polymer make, and they are bound to crack with every fall.

Well, the Magpul PMAG offers you an all polymer-make magazine, and you don’t have to worry about your feed lips cracking with every fall. The PSA, however, features steel feed lips, and I bet you know what happens next after falling.

What Do They Have in Common?

Both the PSA and the Magpul PMAG magazines feature orange followers, magazine matrix, and capacity indicators, which is a good thing. They are also to clean and disassemble.

The Best Overall:

The Magpul 35 round CZ Scorpion PMAG Magazine takes the win. It has incredible features to give the user an amazing experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 10/35 10 blocked Magpul Magazine?

A large-capacity magazine is one that holds more rounds than the standard. If you have had the opportunity to look at the interactive map we made on high capacity magazine laws in the US, then you are aware that some states have laws that limit the magazine capacity to only 10 rounds.

Anything past 10 or sometimes 15 rounds is considered large capacity and is against the law.

To avoid being on the wrong side of the law, you could have your 35 round Magpul magazine blocked to hold fewer rounds. The 10/35 means that the magazine is blocked at 10 rounds and can only hold that.

This, by the way, is a great idea to keep using your Magpul magazine in the most lawful way. You get to own the best CZ Scorpion magazine and keep it legal. Amazing right?

Is There a 10 Round Magpul Magazine for CZ Scorpion

At the moment, there only exist 30 and 35  round capacity magazines. We hope that Magpul will give us a 10 round mag soon. If you need 10 or 15 rounds capacity for legal reasons, you can have a Magblock installed at 10 or 15 rounds depending on the state.

What Is a Magblock? Is it Legal?

Magblocks are devices that limit the number of rounds that the magazine can hold when installed in your magazine. According to the law, a large-capacity magazine that has been permanently altered to hold the required number of rounds is legal. You can therefore invest in a magblock. They are readily available in the market today.

Which is the Best Magblock for Magpul CZ Scorpion Magazine

The Best Magblock for a 35 round Magpul is the Magpul PMAG CZ SCORPION EVO Magblock 10/35 (9MM)

This magazine limiter is made explicitly for the 35 round Magpul magazine for CZ Scorpion. All other limiters have blocks at 10/30 or 15/20 and may not work with your Magpul.

This Magpul Magblock is easy to install, lightweight, and just like the PMAG, it is made of polymer and hence durable. The best thing about it is that it is so affordable; you can’t afford to miss it.

So good, right? You might just want to purchase it immediately, the problem is, it was only made for the Magpul magazine, and therefore cannot fit other magazines. But all things considered, I find it a worthy purchase and a lifesaver!

Conclusion

The Magpul 35 Round EV9 CZ Scorpion PMAG Magazine is, by far, the best magazine for the CZ scorpion. With a magazine capacity of 35 rounds, you are in for the best shooting experience. Talking of its durability and numerous features, this magazine is simply the best!
